Review: Clarins Spring/Summer 2015 Makeup

It’s that time of year again when we’re not quite sure what to wear. 5Sometimes you can be too hot in a jumper, and sometimes (if you’re anything like me) you’ll get caught in the rain without an umbrella.

But one thing that we can wear that won’t be affected by the weather is our makeup. Clarins have brought out a whole range of lovely new products and shades in time for Spring and Summer. So come rain or shine, you’re sure to feel brightened up with these choice treats!

Clarins Blush Prodige £26.501

This handy compact blush in Sweet Rose will suit every skin type. The compact contains a handy mirror and brush with two shades of cheek colour: a matte shade which sculpts and an iridescent shade to highlight.

The lightweight texture gives a luminous and long-lasting finish. This is a great wee addition to the handbag and gives a brighter complexion in seconds.

Jol2i Rouge Brilliant Sheer Shine Lipstick £19.50

I tried this in Rose Petal. Normally I’m more of a lip balm type of gal, and when I do wear lipstick it tends to be more towards the darker shades, so I wasn’t convinced I’d like this light pinky shade. I didn’t like it, I loved it!

It doesn’t feel as though you are wearing a lipstick, but more of a moisturising lip balm. The colour was more sheer than lipsticks that I am used to, but I liked it and it still gave a healthy shine. It lasted for ages as well and there wasn’t a need to keep reapplying. A great find.

Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector £18

3At first I wasn’t sure how these balms would look once applied, as one of them, 04 Orange, was, well, very orange. But it doesn’t go on pure bright orange, but as a glittery sheen with a hint of colour.

They are also very moisturising and a great steal for the handbag when you need an instant pop of colour. The lip balms are also available in 01 Rose, 02 Coral, 03 MyPink, 05 Red and 06 Rosewood.

Crayon Khol Eye Pencil £174

I reviewed this in 01 Intense Black. Black eye pencils are my ultimate go-to products, and so I was looking forward to trying this.

This can be applied as a transitional khol or around the eye contour area. The handy natural hair brush at the end is great for smudging. I found this particularly helpful as a brush is not always provided with eye pencils.

The colour was long lasting but very easy to remove at the end of the day. This is a great product to get that perfect smoky eye effect!
